ORLEANS — The Orleans Kiwanis Club gathered for its monthly dinner meeting last Thursday night at the Orleans United Methodist Church, focusing on both regional growth and local community service.
The evening featured a visit from Vanessa McClary, the Lieutenant Governor for the Hoosier Division of Kiwanis. As a special guest, McClary provided club members with a comprehensive update on divisional activities and discussed new incentives available to local chapters to bolster membership and community impact.
True to the Kiwanis mission of serving the community, the meeting also functioned as a localized service project. Attendees arrived with various non-perishable goods and essential items to help restock the Orleans United Methodist Church Blessings Box.

The Blessings Box serves as a 24/7 community resource, allowing neighbors in need to access food and hygiene products anonymously and free of charge.
Local Club President Jim Hudelson presided over the meeting and welcomed McClary, highlighting the strong connection between the Orleans chapter and the broader Hoosier Division. The visit underscored the club’s commitment to staying aligned with regional goals while maintaining a hands-on presence in Orange County.
The Orleans Kiwanis Club continues to meet monthly, welcoming those interested in community service and local fellowship.
