Indiana opens applications for 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Program Tax Credits

INDIANA The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) has officially opened the application window for the 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). Indiana non-profits have until May 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST to apply for a share of $2.5 million in available tax credits.

The program serves as a powerful fundraising tool, allowing non-profits to offer donors a 50% state income tax credit on their contributions. These credits help local organizations leverage private donations to fund projects that benefit economically disadvantaged areas and individuals.

The total annual allocation statewide is $2.5 million. The maximum award is $15,000 in tax credits per organization.

Donors receive a tax credit equal to 50% of their donation, subtracted directly from their Indiana state income tax liability.
