Senator Eric Koch named to Indiana Rural Health Transformation Program Committee

STATEHOUSE — State Senator Eric Koch (R-Bedford) has been appointed to the Region 7 Advisory Committee for the Rural Health Transformation Program.

Senator Eric Koch

Indiana has finalized membership for the eight regional advisory committees of the Growing Rural Opportunities for Well-being Regional Grants, an initiative of the RHTP. The program was established by the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act and includes $50 billion for the RHTP, a federal relief program that transforms care and improves health outcomes in rural communities. Indiana was awarded a nearly $207 million grant for the first year of the five-year program to improve health care access, quality, and outcomes through system innovation.

Sen. Koch will serve on the regional advisory committee alongside other rural health stakeholders, whose local perspectives will help identify health needs and ensure accountability and collaboration. Regional Committees will provide ongoing guidance and support to the Regional Coalitions throughout the five-year grant period.

Region 7 counties include Brown, Lawrence, Jackson, Orange, Washington, Crawford, Perry, and Harrison.

The Indiana Rural Health Association, Indiana Hospital Association, and Indiana Primary Health Care Association are providing technical assistance to regions as the coalitions determine their needs, design initiatives, and prepare their applications. More information about regional grants and a full list of all advisory committee members can be found on the GROW Rural Indiana: Regional Grants webpage.

Koch is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities, ranking member of the Senate committees on Commerce and Technology and Judiciary, and a member of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law. He represents Senate District 44, which includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Orange counties, and a portion of Monroe County.
