BLOOMINGTON — As election season gains momentum, the League of Women Voters of Bloomington-Monroe County has announced a Candidate Forum scheduled for later this month.
The event aims to provide voters with a direct platform to hear from those seeking office in both state and local government.
The forum will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-North Middle School Presentation Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

The evening will focus on two key primary contests affecting residents in District 61 and Monroe County:
- Indiana House of Representatives, District 61: Candidates Matt Pierce and Lilliana Young are slated to appear to discuss their platforms for the state legislature.
- County Commissioner, District 1: Candidates Trent Deckard and David Henry will present their visions for county leadership and infrastructure.
Reflecting a broad interest in civic engagement, the League of Women Voters is joined by several prominent community organizations as co-sponsors for the event:
- PACE (Political and Civic Engagement)
- Monroe County NOW (National Organization for Women)
- NAACP (Monroe County Branch)
- Citizens’ Climate Lobby (South Central Indiana)
