BEDFORD — Visitors to the 2026 Women’s Expo will have the opportunity to support a longtime local service organization while enjoying one of its most popular annual fundraisers.
The annual expo is hosted by Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits 105.5, 102.5 LiteFm, and 1340 WBIW and brings together dozens of vendors, community organizations, and businesses for a day of shopping, entertainment, and community engagement.

Members of Altrusa International of Bedford will be present at the expo to share information about their work in the community, help with the event’s Flamingo Bingo activity, and kick off their annual nut sale fundraiser.
Altrusa is a volunteer service organization focused on community service, literacy, and leadership. The Bedford chapter is active throughout Lawrence County, supporting a wide range of programs that benefit children, families, seniors, and community organizations.

The club’s annual nut sale serves as its primary fundraiser each year, with proceeds helping fund many of the group’s local initiatives. Much of Altrusa’s work centers on literacy programs, including providing books, coloring books, and supplies for students in programs such as Head Start, Playful Pathways, and Early Journeys.
Altrusa members have also supported area schools and community organizations in other ways. The group previously purchased a printer for the Bedford Middle School media department, contributes items several times a year to residents at CORE Nursing Home, and provides assistance to organizations such as AGAPE House and Becky’s Place, which provides shelter for women and children in need.
At the Women’s Expo, Altrusa members will officially launch this year’s nut sale at their booth, giving attendees an early opportunity to place orders and learn more about the fundraiser. Orders typically require payment at the time of purchase and are fulfilled before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Selections include a variety of one-pound bags of nuts and specialty items, including English walnut halves and pieces, mammoth pecan halves, large pecan pieces, pecan praline halves, chocolate amaretto pecans, deluxe mixed nuts without peanuts, double-dipped chocolate peanuts, and whole jumbo cashews, each priced at $13.

In addition to hosting their booth, Altrusa members will once again assist with Flamingo Bingo, one of the Women’s Expo’s most popular attractions, helping keep the event running smoothly throughout the day.
Organizers encourage attendees to stop by the Altrusa booth during the expo to learn more about the organization, support its mission, and purchase items from the annual nut sale. Anyone interested in purchasing nuts may also contact Tammy Harrell at (812) 278-6095 or Becky Bailey at (812) 583-0961.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go directly toward supporting Altrusa’s ongoing service projects and community partnerships throughout Lawrence County.
