Two missing adults found deceased in flooded waters in Lawrence County

BEDFORD – Two adults reported missing over the weekend were found deceased Tuesday after their vehicle was located in floodwaters in Lawrence County.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Greg Day, a missing persons report was filed Sunday evening, March 8, for Kasee Allman, 21, of Bedford, and Jesse Brock, 35, of Leesville. Family members reported they had not seen or been able to contact either person since Saturday, March 7.

Authorities said the pair were last seen in Paoli and were believed to be traveling to Brock’s residence near Leesville.

Family members and investigators used cellphone app location data that indicated the two were near Earl Road and Lawrenceport Road around 10 p.m. Saturday. No additional phone data was available after that time.

A search was launched, but many roadways in that area of the county were flooded. Based on the available information, investigators feared the pair may have driven into floodwaters.

Over the next two days, deputies were assisted by the Indiana Conservation Officers and the Indiana State Police. Search teams used boats, underwater sonar, drones, and helicopters as part of the effort, with conservation officers leading the floodwater search using specialized equipment and expertise.

On Tuesday morning, March 10, conservation officers located the truck the pair had been traveling in. Both Allman and Brock were found deceased inside the vehicle.

Following the discovery, conservation officers and investigators assumed control of the case as a death investigation with assistance from Indiana State Police evidence technicians. The sheriff’s office has concluded its missing persons investigation.

Family members of both victims have been notified.

Officials said any additional information regarding the water search and death investigation will be released by the Indiana Conservation Officers.
