Harriet Sue Charles, 85, of Bedford, passed away 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born July 18, 1940, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Landseadel) Brown. Harriet married Robert L. Charles on March 19, 1965, in Tipton, Indiana, and he precedes her in death. She was a graduate of Tipton High School and attended Clearview Baptist Church; she loved needlework and raising her daughters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Teresa Charles of Bedford, Tracey (Marc) Foddrill of Bedford, and Andrea (Dan) Roberts of Houston, Ohio; daughter-in-law Arlisha Charles of Florida; grandchildren, Amanda (Danny) Perry, Lance (Kayti) Adams, Hannah (Channon) Martin, Willie (Sam) Boruff, Tosha Charles, Drew (Sarah) Roberts, Nevin Foddrill, Trisha (Carl) Caves, Eric East; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Mary) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son Scott Charles, one grandson, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th , at Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Talbott Cemetery in Lawrence County. Visitation will take place from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Day & Carter.
