New public safety training facility set for grand opening in Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD — Local emergency personnel will soon have access to a state-of-the-art training hub as Greene County prepares for the grand opening of the new Public Safety Education and Training Facility later this month.

The stand-alone center, located at 224 South Washington Street, is designed to provide Indiana first responders with affordable, localized training that previously may have required significant travel to larger metropolitan areas.

The facility aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world emergency response. According to project organizers, the center will feature:

  • High-Fidelity Simulations: Advanced technology designed to mimic high-stress, real-world scenarios.
  • Hands-On Instruction: Field-specific training led by certified instructors.
  • Affordability: A focus on providing low-cost opportunities for local departments with tight budgets.

Area first responders and the general public are invited to celebrate the milestone and tour the new building on Friday, March 27th at Noon at 224 South Washington Street in Bloomfield.

The facility is expected to become a cornerstone for regional safety, ensuring that firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel are better prepared for the unique challenges of serving rural and suburban Indiana communities.
