Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County reports January program impact

BEDFORD — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County reported serving hundreds of local children through its after-school programs during January, according to its January Impact Report released Feb. 24.

The organization reached a total of 685 children across its after-school programs during the month, while welcoming 55 new members across its six sites. On average, 358 children attended after-school programming each day in January.

Despite winter weather and schedule disruptions, the club reported consistent daily operations focused on providing safe and supportive environments where children can learn, grow and connect with peers. The report credited staff, volunteers and community supporters for sustaining programming throughout the month.

The January Impact Report also highlighted feedback from participating children, who cited opportunities to spend time with friends, take part in activities, receive snacks, use the gym, complete homework, and engage in arts and crafts as reasons they enjoy attending after-school programs.

The club encouraged continued community support through monthly giving and athletics sponsorships, noting that donations help fund programming, cover activity costs and provide access for children who need financial assistance.

The report concluded by thanking donors for their support in January, stating that contributions directly support daily after-school programming for local youth.
