Orleans Chamber of Commerce announces 2026 leadership and vision

ORLEANS The Orleans Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors officially kicked off the new year last Thursday, convening at Town Hall for their annual meeting and reorganization. The session focused on leadership elections, upcoming community staples like the Dogwood Festival, and a robust calendar of events for 2026.

The board welcomed both familiar faces and new energy to its ranks. Curtis Ralston (JSI) was tapped to serve as Board Chair for the coming year, supported by Thomas Lamb (Beacon Credit Union) as Vice-Chair. Bonnie Bolinger (Feminine Mystique) and Janelle Springer (Springer Insurance) will continue their roles as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Joining the board as new members for 2026 are Debbie Suddarth (Suddarth Real Estate & Co.) and Jamie Livingston (JSI). They join returning members Randy Clark, Pat Hall, Jimmy Ellis, Angie Clark, Emily Brown, and Greta Lewellyn.

In a move for continuity, the board approved a new contractual agreement for Robert Henderson to remain as Executive Director through the end of 2026. Additionally, Thomas Lamb will continue his role as the local Chamber liaison to the Orange County Economic Development Partnership.

Executive Director Henderson provided updates on the 56th Annual Orleans Dogwood Festival, scheduled for April 18–25. This year’s theme will honor a national milestone: the “America 250” (1776–2026) celebration.

A key highlight of the festival’s return is the Silent Auction, chaired by Leslie Padgett. The auction serves as a vital “fun-raiser,” helping to offset festival expenses and fund various community enhancement projects throughout the year.

The Chamber teased a busy spring and summer for the historic town square:

  • Monon South Moovers & Food Truck Frenzy: Both popular events are moving to Thursdays this spring, with the first walk scheduled for March 19.
  • Orange County Homegrown Farmers Market: Set to return on Saturdays from mid-May through late October.
  • Art at the Tower: A brand-new event debuting in May.
  • Summer Staples: The Orleans Garden Tour returns in mid-June, followed by the 2nd Annual Antique Tractor Show in July.

The Chamber is currently processing 2026 membership renewals. Business owners who have not yet renewed are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. Dues have remained frozen at 2025 rates:

  • Industry, Utilities, & Financial: $175
  • Small Business: $60
  • Civic/Individuals: $30

The Chamber is also actively seeking hosts for its 2026 Business After Hours networking events. Interested business owners can contact the Chamber office at 812-865-9930.

The Chamber board is scheduled to meet again on April 9th.
