Local trades take center stage at Daviess County Construction Show

ODON The local building industry is gearing up for the return of the Daviess County Construction Show, set to take place this Friday and Saturday at the Simon Graber Complex. The event, now in its 13th year, will feature more than 80 vendors showcasing the craftsmanship and innovation that define “Daviess Made” products.

Organizer Marvin Raber of Raber Storage Barns noted that the show was originally conceived as a one-stop shop for homeowners and contractors to connect. “It gives area businesses a professional platform to showcase what they can do,” Raber said. “From high-end flooring and advanced water filtration to heavy-duty pole barns, visitors can see the quality firsthand.”

With the spring building season around the corner, the show offers a timely opportunity for DIY enthusiasts and those looking to hire professionals for larger renovations. Categories on display will include:

  • Interior Finishes: Custom cabinetry, countertops, and diverse flooring solutions.
  • Exterior Structures: Storage sheds, gazebo kits, and post-frame building materials.
  • Home Systems: Alternative energy options and modern heating solutions.

Raffles and Giveaways

Attendees will have the chance to walk away with more than just project ideas. Raber Storage Barns is hosting a high-stakes raffle for a 10-by-12 storage shed, with all proceeds benefiting a local community cause. Additionally, the show’s grand door prize this year is a professional-grade DeWalt miter saw kit.

In keeping with local tradition, the event is as much a community social as it is a trade show. Visitors can enjoy a variety of home-cooked foods, including a specialty bake sale and famous Amish fry pies.
