Daviess Community Hospital Foundation announces 2026 Health Career Scholarships

WASHINGTON — The Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) Foundation has officially opened the application window for its 2026 Health Career Scholarships, offering significant financial support to local students pursuing careers in the medical field.

The program is designed to bolster the local healthcare workforce by supporting students from Daviess, Martin, and Pike counties. Whether attending school full-time or part-time, eligible students—including non-traditional learners returning to the classroom—are encouraged to apply for awards ranging from $750 to $5,000.

Honoring a Legacy and Supporting Future Nurses

This year’s scholarship cycle features two notable opportunities:

The Dr. Suresh Lohano Memorial Scholarship: Introduced this year, this scholarship honors the late Dr. Lohano’s legacy of compassionate, patient-centered care. It serves as a tribute to his dedication to the community and his impact on local medicine.

$5,000 Nursing Scholarship: A specialized high-value scholarship is available for nursing students entering their final year of study. This award includes a “service-for-scholarship” component, requiring a commitment to work at Daviess Community Hospital for two years following licensure.

How to Apply

Interested students must submit their applications through the hospital’s website at dchosp.org. The firm deadline for all submissions is March 16, 2026.

The foundation’s scholarship program continues to be a vital resource for area students facing the rising costs of higher education in the healthcare sector. By investing in local talent, the DCH Foundation aims to ensure a high standard of care for the region for years to come.
