BEDFORD — Organizers of the Mark Starr Memorial Cutter Classic have adjusted the schedule for this weekend’s tournament due to an incoming winter storm expected to affect the area.

The fourth annual middle school basketball tournament will now begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, an hour earlier than originally scheduled. In addition, no consolation games will be played to complete the tournament before snow and hazardous travel conditions begin.
The Cutter Classic honors the late Mark Starr, a Bedford Middle School coach and teacher, and supports a scholarship established in his memory. The one-day tournament features boys’ and girls’ middle school teams from across the region and is held at Bedford Middle School.
The schedule changes were made to help ensure the safety of players, coaches, officials, and spectators as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate later in the day. Winter weather forecasts for the region call for snow and potentially slick roads beginning Saturday afternoon.
Admission prices and all other event details remain unchanged. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and allow extra time for travel.
