PORTAGE — Purdue University Extension, in partnership with JRS Mar/Com, will host a Digital Ready Business; Hands-On Workshop Series this February, offering small business owners practical, in-person training to strengthen their online presence, marketing effectiveness, and digital readiness.
Designed for entrepreneurs, solo business owners, and small teams, the four-part workshop series provides step-by-step instruction and hands-on exercises focused on real-world digital business challenges. Participants may register for individual sessions or the full series.

“These workshops are built to meet small businesses where they are,” said JRS Mar/Com Director Joe Skibbie. “The goal is to help business owners leave each session with tools and strategies they can apply immediately.”
All workshops take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the North County Complex, 3560 Willowcreek Road, Portage, unless otherwise noted.
- February 4 — Claiming Your Online Turf for Small Businesses
Learn how to establish and manage your business’s virtual identity across multiple platforms through a guided, step-by-step walkthrough led by JRS Mar + Com.
- February 11 — Social Media for Your Small Business
Explore the strengths, weaknesses, and audiences of various social media platforms, then apply the learning in a hands-on exercise.
- February 18 — Evaluating Your Online Marketing Effectiveness
Learn how to evaluate analytics and digital marketing campaigns to measure return on investment, with hands-on assistance.
- February 25 — Artificial Intelligence for Your Small Business (Virtual Only)
Discover agentic AI frameworks and learn how AI agents can help handle repetitive and time-consuming business tasks.
