BEDFORD – April Stapp Collins announces her bid for re-election to the office of Lawrence County Assessor.

With the exception of two and a half years of my marriage, I have been a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. I was born and raised here, the daughter of Mary Stapp, the former Lawrence County Assessor, and Benjamin Eugene (Speck) Stap,p a Bedford City firefighter.
I raised my two children here, and my grandchildren are being raised here. My son Kyle and his wife Mandy live in Apex, North Carolina, with my grand-dogs Bentley and Beefcake. My daughter Stevie and her husband Ryan Shelton live in Lawrence County with their three children, Zoey, Oliver, and Watson.
I meet the requirement to hold the office of Lawrence County Assessor as I earned my Level III Certified Indiana Assessor Appraiser designation on July 30, 2010. I keep my certification in good standing by earning thirty hours of continuing education every two years.
It has been such an honor to serve the taxpayers of Lawrence County as County Assessor. My office strives to do the best job we can with honesty and integrity and to treat each taxpayer with the utmost respect.
I thank you for your support in the past and ask for your support on May 5.
