BEDFORD — Local residents looking to jumpstart a career in the high-demand world of technology can once again take advantage of the CODE/IT Academy. Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2026 cohort, offering a free pathway to industry-recognized certifications and high-paying jobs.

The program is a collaborative partnership between The Mill in Bloomington, Ivy Tech Community College, and Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI). It is designed specifically for those with little to no prior experience in Information Technology.
Program Highlights for Spring 2026
The upcoming session features the CompTIA IT Tech+ curriculum, which provides a foundational understanding of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting—essential skills for entry-level tech support roles.
- Course Dates: February 17 – April 24, 2026
- Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Location: StoneGate Arts & Education Center, 931 15th Street, Bedford (Hybrid format with live-streamed instruction and on-site support)
- Cost: 100% Free (A value of approximately $1,600)
What Participants Receive
Accepted students will gain access to a comprehensive support network to ensure their success in the digital economy:
- Certification Prep: The program covers the cost of the certification exam, including up to two attempts.
- Equipment Support: Loaner laptops are available for eligible students who need them.
- Professional Coaching: Beyond technical skills, participants receive career coaching, mentorship, and job placement assistance.
How to Apply
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the Indiana Uplands region, which includes Lawrence, Monroe, Greene, and surrounding counties.
