BLOOMINGTON — Lace up your skates! The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department has announced that registration is officially open for Session II of The Skating School.

Based at the Frank Southern Ice Arena, the program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends the best of the Ice Skating Institute’s Learn-to-Skate program and U.S. Figure Skating’s Basic Skills program. Whether you are a “Tot” stepping onto the ice for the first time or an adult looking to sharpen your skills, the school is designed to help skaters of all levels progress at a steady, confidence-building pace.
The upcoming session runs for eight weeks, providing a structured environment to master essential ice sports skills.
- Cost: $80 per skater (includes skate rental).
- Class Structure: Each weekly session includes a 30-minute instructional class followed by 30 minutes of independent practice ice time.
- Skill Levels: Classes are available for ages ranging from Tot (preschool) to Adult.
