INDIANA – A vital initiative is underway across Indiana to collect and share personal stories about homelessness, housing instability, and the community organizations working to solve these challenges.

The effort, led by the Indiana Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoS CoC) network in collaboration with the Indiana Community Action Poverty Institute, aims to raise awareness of effective programs and better understand the successful pathways to housing stability for Hoosiers.
Call for Storytellers
Organizers are issuing an open invitation to three main groups:
- Individuals who have personally experienced homelessness or housing instability in Indiana.
- Clients that a community organization has helped to find stable housing.
- Staff and Leadership from organizations that support unhoused Hoosiers or assist clients in their transition to stable housing.
The goal is to highlight “what’s working well” within the BoS CoC network and showcase the positive impact that organizations and individuals are making in the state.
How to Share Your Experience
Those interested in sharing their story—whether as a client, staff member, or stakeholder—are encouraged to participate via a simple survey. Participants have two options for submission:
- Write Your Story: Use the provided survey form to write out your personal experience.
- Request an Interview: Opt for a quick 15-30 minute interview with a staff member from the Indiana Community Action Poverty Institute to share your story verbally.
