INDIANA — The American Red Cross is issuing an urgent appeal to the public to schedule a blood or platelet donation this December, emphasizing that blood products already on the shelves are what matter most to patients facing critical needs during the busy holiday season.
December is recognized as the National Month of Giving, and the Red Cross is calling on donors to make a new holiday tradition by giving the gift of life. There is a special need for donors with Type O positive, O negative, and B negative blood now and in the coming weeks.
Holiday Incentives for Donors
The Red Cross is thanking donors with special incentives throughout the month:
- December 8-18, 2025: Donors who come to give will receive a $15 Amazon Gift Card by email.
- December 19, 2025 – January 4, 2026: Donors will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt, while supplies last.
