CROWN POINT – The Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association (NWIIWA) has announced the graduation of the inaugural cohort of its Mentorship Program, marking a major milestone in the organization’s mission to uplift and inspire women across industries in the region.

The celebration was held during the Professional Women’s Conference held recently at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa in Michigan City, where both mentees and mentors were honored.
Launched in 2025, the six-month program pairs emerging professionals with seasoned leaders, creating one-on-one mentoring relationships that foster growth, confidence, and career development.
“This program is about the power of connection, and that was certainly evident in this very first group of mentees and mentors,” said Aida Abuelizam, co-chair of the Mentorship Program. “Seeing these women complete the program armed with the tools to chart their own path shows that their success is exactly what this initiative was built for.”
Key highlights from the program include:
- Customized Guidance: Each mentee is matched with a mentor who can best support individual goals and career aspirations.
- Professional Development: Cohort members gained access to workshops, assessments, and events that elevate confidence, skills, and professional clarity.
- Networking Opportunities: Participants expand professional relationships that extend beyond the program’s duration.
Andrea Pearman, co-chair of the Mentorship Program, said the program was developed to address a growing need for intentional, supportive development opportunities for women. She noted the structure of NWIIWA’s program to allow mentees to remain in control of their own development was key in the program’s success.

“There was a remarkable difference in the confidence level of the mentees from the start of the program through their graduation. It is so inspiring to see women grow and watch others lift them up in support as they are learning,” said Pearman. “We are so incredibly proud of these women who are now positioned for greater things, and we are grateful for our mentors who gave of their time to empower others.”
Applications for both mentees and mentors in the second cohort of NWIIWA’s Mentorship Program are open through Dec. 5. Mentees are invited to apply here. Those interested in becoming a mentor can apply here.
