PAOLI — The Orange County Historical Society (OCHS) marked the close of a successful year, one highlighted by significant local anniversaries, during its Annual Christmas Dinner on December 2nd at the Paoli Presbyterian Church.
OCHS President/CEO Robert F. Henderson welcomed attendees, and the evening began with an invocation provided by Chris Lindley. Members and guests enjoyed a delicious catered meal prepared by Jerry Wall.

In his address, President Henderson offered appreciation for the Society’s members and the numerous accomplishments achieved throughout 2025. He specifically highlighted major historical milestones celebrated this year:
- The 175th anniversary of the iconic Orange County Courthouse.
- The 140th anniversary of the Historic Dr. J.M. Sherrod Home, which serves as the location for the Orange County Historic Museum.
A primary focus of the dinner was the introduction of the Executive Committee and Board members who will guide the Society in the upcoming new year.

Holiday Program with First Lady Washington
The evening concluded with a unique and informative program featuring Lori Roberts, a historic interpreter and educator. Roberts presented as First Lady “Martha Washington,” offering attendees an interesting look at the Washington family’s life at Mount Vernon and the holiday traditions they observed.

The Orange County Historical Society traditionally recesses its meetings during the winter months and will not meet during January and February.
