MITCHELL— The community is invited to enjoy a festive meal while supporting the Mitchell Bluejackets Band at a special “Dine to Donate” fundraiser this Monday, December 1st. The event, hosted by El Compadre Mexican Restaurant at 1608 Wilkins Way, will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. During this time, a percentage of all sales will be directly donated back to the Mitchell Band program.
Keeping the Music Playing
The funds raised are crucial for maintaining the quality and accessibility of the band program, which serves Mitchell’s talented young musicians. Specifically, the proceeds will help cover essential costs, including:
- New Sheet Music: Ensuring students have updated and varied repertoire.
- Instrument Repairs: Keeping instruments in working order, a vital and often expensive necessity.
- Other Essential Band Expenses: Including competition fees, uniform upkeep, and transportation costs.
The Mitchell Band Boosters, a 501(c)(3) organization, continuously seeks community support to fund equipment, uniforms, and travel expenses, with annual costs often exceeding $10,000, according to recent sponsorship calls. This Dine to Donate event offers a delicious, simple way for residents to contribute.
