SALEM —The search for a missing Salem man came to a tragic close on Saturday afternoon when the body of Robert Alan Bragman, 43, of Salem, was discovered by members of a community search party.

Bragman had been reported missing to the Salem Police Department on Monday, November 17, 2025, after he was last seen on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
The search effort, coordinated by the Salem Police and Fire Departments, concluded Saturday when team members located Mr. Bragman’s body in a wooded area near a walking trail just west of Salem.
Following the discovery, the Salem Police Department requested the assistance of the Indiana State Police (ISP), which has now assumed the lead in the investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death. Authorities stated that no additional details regarding the circumstances of Bragman’s death will be released until the autopsy has been completed.
The Bragman family has been notified.
The Salem Police Department and Indiana State Police extended their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Robert Bragman during this difficult time.
