Indiana High School Students: Registration open for Poetry Out Loud recitation competition

INDIANA – High school students across Indiana can study and celebrate poetry through the Poetry Out Loud program, and registration for the state’s local competitions is now officially open.

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that offers free educational materials and features a dynamic recitation competition for high school students nationwide.

Winners of local competitions will have the exciting opportunity to represent their school or organization at the state finals in Indianapolis early next year. Ultimately, winners will advance to the National Finals held in Washington, D.C..

The National Endowment for the Arts provides a fact sheet highlighting the benefits of student participation.

Teachers and organizers interested in learning more are invited to attend an informational webinar tomorrow, November 20, from 4 to 5 pm Eastern. The webinar will cover how to organize a competition and detail the resources available to support organizers.

To get started, interested parties should review the organizer guide and submit the interest form by December 12. Submitting the form will ensure you receive information about the state competition and promotional materials.
