DAVIESS CO. — A significant opportunity for local philanthropy has arrived, as an anonymous donor has pledged to match up to $30,000 in contributions made to the Daviess County Museum Endowment on the upcoming Giving Tuesday, December 2.

This matching gift means that every dollar donated on that day will be doubled, significantly increasing the impact of community support for the museum.
The Daviess County Museum Endowment, which Our Community Foundation manages, provides crucial support for the long-term stability and operations of the Daviess County Historical Society Museum.
Chris Jarrett, Executive Director of the Daviess County Historical Society Museum, emphasized the initiative’s importance, saying that this generous match highlights the power of local philanthropy to preserve the community’s history.
Jarrett encouraged all residents to participate, regardless of the size of their gift. “Give what you can, and know your generosity will be doubled. Together we can help secure the museum’s future.”
To be eligible for the matching funds, donations must be made on Tuesday, December 2. Residents have three options for contributing:
- Online: Donations can be submitted through the Foundation’s website at localforever.org.
- In Person: Gifts can be delivered directly to Our Community Foundation’s Washington office.
- By Mail: Mailed contributions must be postmarked by December 2.
For residents seeking more information about the endowment or the matching gift program, Executive Director Chris Jarrett can be contacted directly at chris@localforever.org or by phone at 812-698-5413.
