MUNCIE – The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of Corporal Blake Reynolds, who died early this morning after a semi-truck struck his patrol car while he was assisting a stranded motorist on Interstate 69.
Corporal Reynolds, a four-year veteran of the department, was outside of his vehicle during the crash and was struck by the semi-truck. Emergency responders arrived quickly and immediately attempted life-saving measures, but Reynolds succumbed to his injuries.
Corporal Reynolds joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2022 and quickly rose to the rank of Corporal. Before beginning his career in law enforcement, he dedicated time to serving in the Army National Guard.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that Reynolds married his wife, Allison, in June 2025. The department has asked the community to keep Corporal Reynolds’ family and colleagues in their thoughts and prayers, while also expressing gratitude to the emergency personnel who responded to the scene.
