Deer firearms season opens Saturday, Nov. 15; Hunters urged to buy licenses now to avoid delays

INDIANA — The much-anticipated deer firearms season is set to begin on Saturday, November 15. Still, state officials are issuing a crucial advisory to hunters: purchase your licenses immediately to avoid significant technical delays.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) anticipates a high volume of traffic starting Friday, November 14, to its new online license system, which is expected to experience significant slowdowns throughout the opening weekend.

Log in now and you’ll receive a faster reply from the DNR customer service team if you encounter technical issues.

The high traffic risk is concentrated around license purchases and account management. The DNR is strongly recommending that hunters utilize the phone-in option for checking in game to avoid online system congestion.
