HENRY CO. – A serious injury crash involving a Cadiz Police officer and another vehicle is under investigation by the Indiana State Police.

At approximately 6:50 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to State Road 38 and Mechanicsburg Road for a crash involving a marked Cadiz Police vehicle.

Preliminary investigation indicates the police vehicle was stopped on the side of the road for an as-yet-undisclosed reason. State Road 38 was closed for approximately four hours while investigators completed their investigation and crews removed the vehicles and debris from the roadway.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department, New Castle EMS, Cadiz Town Marshal, Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department, and Affordable Towing assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team.
