BEDFORD — JC’s Christian Academy has opened its own on-site testing center, allowing students to complete Indiana Department of Education ILEARN assessments without traveling to Bloomington or other locations.
The room, which was previously the 6-12 classroom, has been converted into a sterile on-site testing facility.

The school recently completed its first practice test in preparation for the statewide summative exams. This week, students in grades 3 through 6 are taking familiarization sessions to learn the computer-based testing format and software.
Beginning Monday and continuing through Friday of next week, students in grades 3 through 8 will take baseline “checkpoint” assessments in math and English/language arts. Three checkpoint assessments will be given throughout the school year to help prepare students for the final graded ILEARN summative test in the spring.
Families with students who require testing accommodations are encouraged to begin the evaluation and documentation process as soon as possible. An official Individualized Education Plan must be on file with both the school and the state before accommodations can be applied during assessments.
The new testing center expands academic capabilities at JCA and supports the school’s goal of increasing readiness and performance on state assessments.
