Mitchell’s “Sound of the Swarm” shines at ISSMA State Finals

FRANKLIN— The “Sound of the Swarm” Marching Band from Mitchell Jr/Sr High School delivered an exhilarating performance at the ISSMA Scholastic Class B State Finals on Saturday, October 25th, held at Franklin Central High School.

The band’s show, titled “There’s a Monster Under My Bed”, featured original music by Randall Standridge and Mo Longo.

Director Paul Pfeifer expressed immense pride in his students’ work. “What a fun and rewarding day at Franklin Central. We are all so proud of their hard work,” Pfeifer said. “The students put on a truly exhilarating performance and made history today representing our school, even if we didn’t make the Top 5!”

  • Drum Majors: Andino Scarfone & Sophia Arvin

The “Sound of the Swarm” will now focus on its final competition of the season: Midstate Prelims on Saturday, November 8th, in Simon Kenton, Kentucky. The band looks to close out the season with another powerful performance, carrying the momentum from their state finals appearance.
