Woman killed, two hurt in mobile home explosion in Salem

SALEM — A mobile home explosion in Salem early Monday morning has left one woman dead and two other individuals hospitalized with burns.

The family has identified the deceased as Barbara Bolin.

The incident occurred at a home in the 100 block of Raneer Drive. Salem Fire Chief Mark Day reported firefighters responded to the scene around 1:40 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived just minutes later, the mobile home was already 50 percent engulfed in flames.

Neighbors reported hearing numerous explosions in the house, blowing out the mobile home windows.

Bolin was found dead inside the residence. Two other occupants managed to escape but sustained burns and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released the official cause of the explosion. The investigation is ongoing.
