Good Boy: Lawrence County K-9 Flek passes away

BEDFORD – A beloved member of the local law enforcement community has passed away. K-9 Flek, a dedicated police dog, officially retired at the end of 2023 after serving the community with distinction for over seven years.

Flek spent his entire career working alongside his partner, Deputy Michael Williams. Together, the duo became a formidable team, responsible for countless successful actions that enhanced public safety.

A Career of Dedication and Success

During his tenure, K-9 Flek’s keen senses and training were instrumental in:

  • Numerous drug seizures help to remove illegal narcotics from the streets.
  • Successful suspect apprehensions, tracking down, and helping to detain individuals in various investigations.

Flek’s service was characterized by unwavering dedication and loyalty. His colleagues and handlers noted that his distinct personality and work ethic will not be forgotten.
