A Gathering of Quilts’ returns for 20th Biennial Show in Columbus

COLUMBUS — The Columbus Indiana Star Quilters and Evening Star Quilters are set to host their 20th biennial quilt show, aptly titled “A Gathering of Quilts,” this weekend, October 17 and 18. The event will take place at the Foundation For Youth, 405 Hope Avenue, in Columbus.

The show promises a vibrant display of needlework, featuring over 150 quilts and quilted items crafted by members of both guilds. Attendees can expect a diverse collection showcasing both traditional and modern designs, along with special Challenge Quilts.

Show hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. General admission is $8 for visitors aged 12 and up. Parking is free, and the venue is fully accessible.

Beyond the main display, the event will offer a range of activities for quilting enthusiasts:

  • Demonstrations will be held throughout both days, offering insights into various quilting techniques.
  • Vendor Mall will be available for shopping, along with a special Boutique and Themed Basket Raffles.

Two specialized, all-day workshops are also scheduled, with limited spots still available:

  • Friday, Oct. 17: “Featherweight Maintenance” led by Marcy Clark. The cost is $55 (includes show admission), with eight spots remaining.
  • Saturday, Oct. 18: “Quilts from Photos” taught by Rona Herman, also known as Rona the Ribbiter. This workshop is $85 (includes show admission) plus a materials fee, with nine spots available.
