Mitchell Opera House hosts weekend of music with Makenzie Phipps and Acclaimed Dixon’s Violin

MITCHELL — The Mitchell Opera House is set to host a dynamic weekend of performances, featuring rising star Makenzie Phipps and the renowned improvisational artist Dixon’s Violin on back-to-back nights in October.

The events offer local music fans a chance to see two highly acclaimed acts, each with a distinct style, on the classic Mitchell stage.

Makenzie Phipps: A Voice Star Takes the Stage

Country music singer Makenzie Phipps will perform live on Saturday, October 11, 2025, starting at 7:00 p.m. Doors for her show will open at 6:15 p.m.

Fans can look forward to seeing her live ahead of a major television appearance, as Phipps is slated to perform on the upcoming season of the hit show, The Voice.

Tickets for Makenzie Phipps are $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under.

The following day, on Sunday, October 12, at 4:00 p.m., violinist Dixon will bring his unique, improvisational music to the Opera House. Dixon’s performance is known for its emotionally powerful and transformative nature, earning him high praise, including being described as “Not your ordinary violinist” by Fox 2 News.

Audience reactions cited in the press release call his performance “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Tickets for Dixon’s Violin are $29 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Note: Tickets for Dixon’s Violin are sold separately by the artist, not the Mitchell Opera House. Doors for the Sunday show open at 3:15 p.m.

The Mitchell Opera House is handicap accessible. All seating for both shows is first-come, first-served. For the comfort and preservation of the historic venue, food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium.
