INDIANA — The Indiana State Police (ISP) is launching its search for new troopers, with the application window for the 90th Recruit Academy opening on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 12:01 a.m.

Individuals interested in a career as an Indiana State Trooper must submit their applications electronically by 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, January 11, 2026, via the official website, IndianaTrooper.com.
Basic Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet specific age, education, and physical standards. Key eligibility criteria include:
- Age: Must be at least 21 and less than 40 years of age by the appointment date of November 19, 2026.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma, GED, or HSE.
- Additional Requirement: Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Have attained 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Have a minimum of two years’ active military service (with a favorable discharge or currently serving) or six years of reserve/National Guard time.
- Have a minimum of three continuous years of full-time, paid, sworn law enforcement experience after graduating from a state-accredited police academy.
- Vision: Minimum standard of 20/50 acuity in each eye and 20/50 distant binocular acuity in both eyes (corrected or uncorrected).
- Residency: Must be willing to reside and serve anywhere in Indiana as designated by the Superintendent.
