Volunteers needed to help combat invasive species at West Boggs Park

WEST BOGGS PARK – West Boggs Park will host a Weed Wrangle on Tuesday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is a call for volunteers to help protect the park’s prairies from invasive species.

Organized by the Daviess-Martin Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA), the event will teach participants how to identify and remove woody invasive plants and unwanted trees that threaten native wildflowers and wildlife habitats.

Volunteers will meet at the Cedarwood Shelter inside the park. No prior experience is necessary, and the park’s entry fees will be waived for all participants. Tools and water will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes and bring their own work gloves.
