Town of Hope explores grant program to help residents with home repairs

HOPE The Town of Hope is exploring a new grant program to assist residents with home repairs and is seeking public input. Officials are preparing to apply for the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Housing grants program, which provides funding to help low- and moderate-income homeowners.

If the town’s application is successful, the grants would cover essential repairs that improve safety and accessibility. These could include roof repair or replacement, ADA accessibility modifications, and upgrades to heating, cooling, electrical systems, and water heaters.

To qualify for the grants, a homeowner’s income must fall within a specific range based on household size. For a single-person household, the income limit is just over $57,000, while a home with eight people can have an income of almost $108,000.

The town will host two public engagement sessions on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to gather feedback from residents. The first session will be at 9 a.m. at Willow Leaves of Hope, and the second at 4 p.m. at the Hope Town Hall. These sessions are designed to help the town understand community needs and strengthen its grant application. A formal public hearing will follow in October at the Hope Town Hall.
