BLOOMINGTON – The Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) is set to host its monthly luncheon this Friday, September 5th, at Crazy Horse, featuring a special guest with a wealth of international and local experience.

The event, which begins at 12 p.m., will feature Rowena Cross-Najafi, a former U.S. Foreign Service officer with a 20-year career that included serving in the Republic of Georgia. Before her time in the State Department, she also served in the U.S. Army. 🇺🇸
Now a prominent figure in the local community, Cross-Najafi is the president of the Bedford Rotary Club and works at the Lawrence County History Museum. Her unique perspective is further highlighted by her and her husband’s ownership of the former Lawrence County Jail, which they have transformed into an Airbnb. She also recently ran for Mayor of Bedford.
Attendees can expect a lively discussion on foreign policy, exploring what other nations think of the United States and what really happens during high-profile state visits. The conversation will also span a range of topics from global views to state and local perspectives.
The luncheon will be held in the back room of Crazy Horse, 214 West Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington. Those wishing to order lunch are advised to arrive a little early. The event promises to offer a fascinating blend of international insights and local engagement.
