NLCS & Probation Department to host parent training sessions in September

BEDFORD — North Lawrence Community Schools, in partnership with the Lawrence County Probation Department, will offer two free training sessions this fall to help parents and caregivers support their children’s success in school.

The sessions, titled “Preparing Our Kids for Success,” will be held on September 11 at Lincoln Elementary School and on September 22 at Parkview Primary School, both from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Organizers said that both events will feature the same training, providing families with two opportunities to attend.

The program is open to parents and caregivers of all NLCS students. It will cover strategies for improving school performance, building stronger communication between home and school, and creating structure for children. Topics also include using homework management tools, recognizing the signs of trauma, and fostering dreams and goals for students.

“These sessions give families practical tools they can use to help children thrive both at home and in the classroom,” organizers said.

Registration is required. Parents and caregivers can sign up by visiting https://bit.ly/LCParentproject.
