Bedford Public Library to host food preservation workshop September 25

BEDFORD — The Bedford Public Library will offer a hands-on introduction to food preservation later this month as part of its “Keep It Real!” program series.

The workshop, scheduled for Thursday, September 25, at 6 p.m., will be led by Ana and Alex and is open to participants ages 18 and older. Attendees will learn four different food preservation techniques and make refrigerator pickles to take home.

Library officials said the program aims to give community members practical skills to extend the shelf life of fresh foods while promoting safe kitchen practices.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Interested participants can sign up through the library’s online calendar at bedfordpl.librarycalendar.com.

The library noted that food and cooking programs may involve potential allergens. While efforts are made to accommodate allergies, officials said they cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. By registering, participants accept responsibility for managing any allergy-related risks.
