BLOOMINGTON — The Monroe County Democrats will participate in Indiana University’s upcoming Umoja Day Block Party on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The event, hosted by the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center (NMBCC), is a signature celebration of Black culture, featuring Black dance and movement.
The event is free and open to the public.

The Monroe County Democrats will have a table at the event to connect with students, provide resources, and engage with the community. They are also encouraging volunteers to join them at the festive block party.
The Umoja Day Block Party is a free, family-friendly event with food, music, and activities. It also provides an opportunity to support Black-owned businesses and learn about various campus and community resources.
The celebration will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the NMBCC Courtyard. All members of the community, including students, campus partners, and Black business owners, are invited to attend.
Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to register by August 29 to reserve their spot.
