Hoosier Hills Credit Union launches ‘Smart Spending’ account for teens

BEDFORD — Hoosier Hills Credit Union has announced the launch of a new checking account designed to help teenagers manage their finances. The “Smart Spending Account,” featuring the new mascot Lil’ Stacks, is tailored for members between the ages of 13 and 17.

The new account aims to provide young people with the tools to build financial confidence from an early age. It includes a free debit card and financial management tools with no monthly fees.

To encourage financial responsibility and community involvement, the account offers an annual incentive program. Teens can earn up to $25 per year by either performing four or more hours of volunteer service or by holding a paid job. The bonus is deposited directly into the member’s savings account upon verification.

Interested individuals can visit any local Hoosier Hills Credit Union Service Center to open an account or learn more. Additional information about the Smart Spending Account can also be found on the credit union’s website.
