WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Preserving Black Churches grant program is now accepting applications. This $60 million national initiative, managed by the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is dedicated to providing financial support to historic Black churches and the communities that maintain them.

Grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 are available to help congregations and organizations with their preservation efforts. The program, which began in 2023, has already invested $19.5 million in 108 historic Black churches across the country. In 2025 alone, $8.5 million in grants were awarded to 30 churches in 19 states.
