SEYMOUR — The Seymour Department of Public Works is advising residents to consider recycling guidelines when purchasing after-school snacks, encouraging them to choose items with minimal packaging or packaging that is recyclable.

The department highlighted common recyclable materials, including plastic bottles, jugs, tubs, and cups; paper and cardboard; glass bottles and jars; cartons; and metal cans and cups.
Items that should not be placed in recycling bins include clothing and textiles, needles, plastic bags, batteries, and hoses and chains.
