Bedford traffic stop ends in drug arrest after troopers uncover hidden cocaine

BEDFORD – A Muncie woman was arrested on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Lawrence County following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of suspected cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Indiana State Police Trooper Chance Humphrey, he was patrolling State Road 37 at approximately 6:30 p.m. when he observed a silver Honda SUV traveling south just north of the Avoca stoplight. A computer check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed it was registered to a 2017 silver Dodge and that the plates had expired in November 2024.

Trooper Humphrey activated his emergency lights, and the vehicle pulled over to the right shoulder just south of the Avoca stoplight.

Upon approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, Trooper Humphrey requested the driver’s license and registration. While standing by the car, he detected the odor of cannabis. Trooper Jesse Crane arrived to assist as Trooper Humphrey returned to his patrol car.

Skadi Dokkalfar

During the traffic stop, Trooper Crane asked the female driver and the passenger, Skadi Dokkalfar, 29, of Muncie, to exit the vehicle. Due to the extreme heat, Trooper Crane allowed both females to wait in his vehicle while Trooper Humphrey searched the SUV.

The search reportedly uncovered a burnt cigarette containing marijuana, found within a pack of three, with packaging indicating it contained THC. Also located in the center console was a jar of THC wax. Between the center console and cup holders, a pink metal container inscribed with “I’ve never faked a sarcasm” was discovered. Inside this container was a blue cut straw with white residue and a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance. The powdery substance field-tested positive for cocaine.

Trooper Crane read Miranda Warnings to both Skadi Dokkalfar and the female driver, recording the conversation via his body-worn camera and the interior camera of his patrol car. Both women stated they understood their rights. When questioned about the powdery substance, Skadi Dokkalfar noted that the bag belonged to her, claiming it must have been left in the container from a previous occasion. She accurately described the container as a “pink and glittery metal case” with the specific writing.

The driver stated the vehicle belonged to her, but Skadi Dokkalfar confirmed they live together and she is frequently in the car. When asked what the substance in the baggie was, Skadi Dokkalfar reportedly stated it was cocaine.

Based on these findings, Trooper Humphrey has probable cause to believe that Skadi Dokkalfar committed the offenses of possession of cocaine, a Level 6 felony, possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, and she was detained and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. The female driver was released from the scene.
