BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University’s historic mascot, Hoosier the Bison, is officially making its comeback, marked by the release of a new, limited-edition bobblehead by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

The figure, unveiled today, Tuesday, July 22, celebrates the return of the bison mascot, which hasn’t been seen at IU events since 1969.
The reintroduction of Hoosier the Bison follows a student government vote late last year to bring the beloved character back. Fans can expect to see the mascot at the Hoosiers’ first home football game of the 2025 season on August 30.
Each bobblehead is individually numbered, officially licensed by Indiana University, and is available for purchase through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame’s online store for $35 plus shipping.
