LOOGOOTEE – A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday for Oak Street Village, a new development poised to enhance housing and childcare options in Loogootee significantly.

The project will feature a 50-unit apartment complex, offering modern living spaces to the community.
In a move addressing a critical need, Oak Street Village will also incorporate a 4,500-square-foot childcare facility. This addition is projected to create 60 new childcare openings for Martin County, providing much-needed support for local families.
Beyond residential and childcare solutions, the development plans also include the construction of additional pickleball courts and expanding recreational opportunities for Loogootee residents.
Officials at the ceremony highlighted the broader impact of Oak Street Village, emphasizing its potential to foster community growth and retention, underscoring the development’s role in attracting and retaining talent within Martin County.
