PEKIN– A camper was washed away by rapidly rising floodwaters in Pekin, Indiana. Authorities confirmed that no one was inside the camper at the time of the incident.
The event occurred at a bridge located on Shorts Corner Road, behind Casey’s Gas Station. New Pekin Town Marshal Jeff Thomas captured video footage of the camper being swept away by the swift current.
Further details regarding any damage to the bridge or surrounding areas were not immediately available. Residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution near flooded roadways and bridges.
