Brad Meyer for Congress to host Universal Healthcare Forum with expert panel

BLOOMINGTON – Congressional candidate Brad Meyer will host a Universal Healthcare Forum this Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bloomington Public Library. The event will feature a panel of experts discussing various facets of universal healthcare.

Brad Meyer, an engineer retired from NSA Crane and running for Congress in Indiana’s 9th district, is spearheading this forum due to his passion for universal healthcare.

The esteemed panel includes:

  • Dr. Peter Stone: A leading advocate for “Medicare for All,” an IU Assistant Professor of Medicine, and the Director and founder of Medicare for All Indiana Bloomington. Dr. Stone clarified that his participation does not constitute an endorsement of any candidate by himself, IU, or Medicare for All Indiana Bloomington.
  • Ivy Lee, MD FAAHPM: A respected Bloomington Palliative Care physician and current Fellow in Addiction Medicine, who will focus on issues related to addiction and recovery.
  • Erin Jeffries MD FACOG: An Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology Practice, originally from Mitchell and now practicing in Bloomington, she is a passionate advocate for women’s reproductive healthcare.
  • Simon Higgs: An internet pioneer and founding member of Hoosier Action. Having grown up with the British National Health Service, he now resides in Monroe County as a journalist and IT consultant.
  • Lindsay Potts, MSW, LCSW: With 18 years of experience in behavioral healthcare across various sectors including state government, health systems, higher education, community mental health, and private practice, she will address community mental health.

Seating for this free event is limited, and pre-registration is required. To secure your ticket, please visit the “Register for Event” tab on the Brad Meyer for Congress website, BradMeyer.org. No charge or contribution is needed to attend. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Parking at the Bloomington Public Library is limited, and street meters are active on Saturdays. Attendees are advised that free parking is available at the IU Poplars Garage on 4th St., across from the Runcible Spoon restaurant, which is open and free on Saturdays.
