DAVIESS CO. – Our Community Foundation has awarded the Daviess County Family YMCA a $550 Fast Grant to purchase new lifesaving training equipment.

The funds have been used to acquire lifeguard rescue tubes, CPR manikin attachments, a dive brick, and tourniquet arm trainers. This equipment will support the YMCA’s various lifesaving courses and enhance staff training.
Jessika Henning, Aquatics Director at the YMCA, stated that the organization trains up to 60 lifeguards and 45 staff members annually in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
As the sole facility in the area with an indoor pool, the YMCA offers year-round training opportunities. The organization also plans to expand its public safety education programs to the community.
